モデルナの特許群を解析した。
多くの特許から、重要特許群を抽出するために、「相関法」を用いた。
これは、２つの特徴パラメータの相関量から、重要な特許群を抽出する方法だ。
２つの特徴パラメータとして、
（１）IPC（国際特許分類）対　IPC
（２）FAMILYID　対　発明者
（３）発明者　対　発明者
の３つを選んだ。

（１）を選んだ理由は、企業が特許対策を行う場合、かならず、周辺特許も固めるはずだ。
結果的に、複数のIPCが割り振られることになる。その関連性の深さが相関に現れる。
その結果、重要な特許分類として、A61K38,C07K14,C12N15を抽出した。
（２）FAMILYIDとは特許群に対して割り当てられる識別子だ。
特許群を育てようとしている発明者を探し出す方法だ。
その結果、重要なFAMILYIDとして49235350と発明者として
CHAKRABORTY_TIRTHAとDEFOUGEROLLES_ANTONINを抽出できた。
（３）特許を育てようとする場合、必ず、良い同僚が必要になる。
同僚間の議論だけが特許を育てると言っても過言ではない。
CHAKRABORTY_TIRTHAとDEFOUGEROLLES_ANTONINの２人を抽出できた。
これは（２）で抽出できた発明者とも一致する。

相関を求める際に作成した相関ヒートマップと抽出した特許群の一部を下記に示している。
mRNAという設計図を細胞に与えて、それによって、薬効のあるタンパク質を作らせるというモデルナWAYが抽出されている。
